About Me

Dear future Kindergarten parents,

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself before the school year begins. My name is Anna Elwart and I am a recent graduate of Wayne State University. My major is special education and I hold an endorsement in cognitive impairment. I have worked with many students who have a variety of learning abilities and disabilities in various schools in the Metro Detroit area. I am also an alumnus of St. Germaine. My elementary school years, from preschool through eighth grade, were the best and truly prepared me for my future! I cherish my time at St. Germaine and that is part of the reason I continue to be affiliated with this school.

Once I graduated from eighth grade in 2006, I continued to volunteer at St. Germaine in various capacities. I was an assistant varsity soccer coach for a few years and then was the head coach for seven years. I was also an assistant basketball coach for the 7th/8th girls’ basketball team. Tutoring students at the school is another way that I have stayed active here. Last year I was asked to teach religious education to a group of first graders. However, many of you may recognize me due to my position as an aid in the School Aged Child Care (SACC) Program here at St. Germaine.

I have always been proud to be affiliated with St. Germaine. The strong Catholic values that this institution fosters have helped in my faith formation. Encountering and growing in Christ while spreading His love to all is important to me and I am excited to assist your child in their faith formation. I am eager to encourage my students to develop a giving spirit that enhances the St. Germaine family and the community as a whole.

When not working or going to school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I have a wonderful husband and a new baby boy! We also have a sweet dog named Bart. I love to play and watch all types of sports, especially soccer! In the summer months my family and I enjoy camping near Grand Bend, Ontario, Canada.

I am looking forward to meeting each of you and to becoming a part of your child’s academic, spiritual, and emotional development. I know this will be a wonderful year filled with learning and growth!
